Introduction to Tourism Management: 3 credits/3 hours

*To evaluate the organization and function of the tourism industry.

*To learn tourism management in business and organizational activities is the act of getting people together to achieve desired objectives applying available resources effectively.

*To understand knowledge about leisure and tourism management through web resouces.

*To enable to employ information on basic concepts and skills to leisure and tourism management.

*To be able to conduct effective communication skills.

*To reveal career opportunities under hospitality, restaurants, and travel in tourism service industry.

Week 5: *International and national tourism organizations. *Know the benefits and costs of tourism.

Week 6: *Food and lodging service industry. *Meetings and conventions.

Week 7: *Tour operations: travel and tourism industry. *To become an international tour guide.

Week 8: *Planning a trip. *Custom-tailored travel packages.

Week 9: Mid-term exam 

Week 10: *Visitors types and behavior. *Type of travel agency.

Week 11: *How to deal with agent, restaurant, and hotel on international tours. *Tips on international tours.

Week 12: *Rail, airline and cruise industry. *Accommodation, lodging, and resort structure.

Week 13: *Tourism supply components. *Major goals of tourism and marketing mix.

Week 14: *Urgent transportation problems. *Barriers to travel and impacting future of tourism.

Week 15: *Benefits of tourism-economy, society, and culture. *Disadvantages of tourism-economy and society.
